“ What I love about Minnie’s Food Pantry is the personal attention to the families and programs that is exceptional and rare, but what is really unique about Minnie’s is that we know who we are. We have a vision for their best, most productive food pantry; one that retains uniqueness and effectiveness, and we are acting on realizing that vision.” Dr. Cheryl Jackson
Every program has a story behind it and every program is coordinated with the family and the volunteers in mind. Our programs are sponsored by corporations, churches, groups and individuals who have done one of three things: experienced hunger, experienced how we feed the hungry or have never had to worry about missing a meal so they pass along their blessings. We realize that all it takes is one person, group or corporation to say “YES, I will help” and our programs are continued. Will you be the ONE? There are numerous ways that you can help Minnie’s Food Pantry make a difference.
FEED JUST ONE PROGRAM
Named after the quote from Mother Teresa, “If you can’t feed one hundred people, Feed Just ONE.” Minnie’s Food Pantry distributes free healthy meals to families in need. Wednesday-Friday and the first and third Saturdays of each month Minnie’s Food Pantry and volunteers rally together to distribute fresh meats, produce and non-perishable items to those in need in North Texas. Clients can come once per calendar month to receive food assistance. Through the Feed Just One program, Minnie’s Food Pantry provides additional resources to meet the needs of all those we encounter, including: Camille’s Kids Program, Day Labor Bags, educational resources and training and much more! Schedule a group volunteer day and sponsor a truck to energize your employees and make them proud to work for a company that supports feeding the less fortunate in your community.
FROM OUR TABLE TO YOURS-THANKSGIVING GIVE AWAY
What would Thanksgiving be like, without a turkey? Our Thanksgiving Giveaway is our largest event of the year, utilizing over 450 volunteers who sing, laugh, and dance as they dedicate their time to feed over ten thousand people in our community. Families receive all the necessary ingredients for a complete Thanksgiving meal… a turkey and all the trimmings. The families are people that Minnie’s Food Pantry has served all year as well as families referred to us by local school counselors, churches and other organizations. Volunteers adopt a family, collect food, or give away complete Thanksgiving dinners and toiletry bags. Become part of Minnie’s Food Pantry’s most coveted event and sponsor this program today!
When school is out unfortunately hunger does not take a vacation. For many kids, school breakfasts and lunches may be the only food they get each week. Our Summer LaUNCH event ensures that families who benefit from free/reduced lunches receive those additional items needed to get their children through the summertime. Through the Summer LaUNCH event parents are relieved of the worry of having to come up with additional funds to offset the meals provided at school while children get the opportunity to participate in face painting, make animal balloons, dance to music played by a live DJ, enjoy fresh BBQ, and much more.
CAMILLE'S KIDS PROGRAM
This program is currently sponsored by Pat and Emmitt Smith charities. Minnie’s Food Pantry believes that every kid should “C-A-Meal”. Named in honor of Cheryl Jackson’s granddaughter, Camille, Minnie’s Food Pantry proudly provides a fun bag filled with delicious and nutritious snacks to enjoy during their visit. The bag makes every child smile and eases the mind of the parent who had to make the difficult decision to visit our facility. In addition, when school is out, unfortunately, hunger does not take a vacation. For many kids, school breakfasts and lunches may be the only food they get each week. Our Camille’s Kids Program provides free lunch to children and youth age 18 and under during the summer because some schools are closed and these meals are not provided. C-A-Mille’s Kids Program focuses on the children in our community and making sure no kid goes hungry in North Texas.
MINNIE'S BREAKFAST CLUB

RC & ME PROGRAM
Minnie’s Food Pantry believes that no person should go without a meal. This is especially true for those who have given so much of themselves for others through service to our country. Minnie’s Food Pantry’s RC and ME program is named after the late Robert Charles Hawthorne, father to Dr. Cheryl Jackson and a proud marine. Through the RC and ME Program, Minnie’s Food Pantry delivers non perishable items to 250 unduplicated veterans each month, with hopes of being able to deliver to all 1,200 veterans through partnership with VA of Dallas.
